Hey All! If you know me you know that I am very practical when it come to healthy eating. No detailed meal plans, no spending my entire Sunday prepping food for the week, and definitely not forcing myself to eat things I don’t enjoy. I do however love simple recipes and good self-care to fuel my energy levels. I pretty much allow myself to eat anything (healthy or not), but getting in my fruits & veggies is a must.
However, if you hate vegetables but still want to eat healthy then you’re in for a treat. Or maybe you just love a good green juice knowing that your body thanks you for it. Either way this recipe is for you because it is seriously delicious and super healthy. All the ingredients are blended (not juiced) so you retain 100% of the nutrition and clean up is a cinch.
Go Get ’em Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 cups spinach or kale
- 1/2 cup carrots
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1/2 green apple
- 1/2 orange, peeled
- 1/4-1/2 lemon, peeled
- 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger, peeled
Directions:
Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend on high until well blended.
Tip #1: a high quality blender will make a much smoother drink. Tip #2: add some ice when you are done blending and it makes a nice ice cold drink.
Fruit & veggie juice smoothies are a great way to get in 100% whole food nutrition. The lemon and ginger in this smoothie can pack in some powerful flavor so adjust the amounts to your preference. Play around with different fruits and veggie and find a combination that works for you.
