Hi, I’m Dina Garcia, Dietitian-Nutritionist & Mindful Eating Coach. After struggling with dieting for years I ended up with disordered eating, weight gain, pre-diabetes and eventually gestational diabetes (GDM). I was actually diagnosed in my 1st trimester. My OB didn’t even want to test me. I was thin, ate healthy and exercised regularly. I just didn’t fit the GDM mold.  Genetics is the driving force for me.

After 8 months of pricking my finger 4 times per day and counting every. single. carb. that went into my mouth plus 3 months of daily injections I knew I was going to do whatever it took to prevent diabetes in my future. After all, having gestational diabetes puts me at a high risk for developing regular diabetes.

I also knew that I sucked at dieting. The moment you tell me I can’t eat something I’ll eat double. It’s my inner rebel. Luckily I was able to create a simplified approach to eating that I call PF3®, that helps me (and countless clients) include all foods, in moderation, without feeling deprived, while at the same time keeping our blood sugars in check.

Through additional training and experience I have also learned a lot about the psychology of eating and created 8 unique eating archetypes that can be used to coach yourself even if you’re lacking motivation or tend to beat yourself and self-sabotage your efforts. That way you don’t have to forever rely on me as a coach for motivation and direction.

The great part of my wellness journey is that I now have healthy blood sugar levels and also developed a healthy relationship with food.  The best part is that I can now help others do the same*
