Covered plans
Vida Nutrition’s dietitian-nutritionists are network with most Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, BCBS/Florida Blue PPO plans and Curative.
Out of Network
If your insurance plan offers out of network benefits we can provide you with a superbill so that you can request reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Self-verify
Insurance companies aren’t perfect and sometimes make mistakes. I encourage clients to also call their insurance company to verify benefits to make sure we are getting the same info. To double check your insurance benefits, call the members service number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
1. Does my plan cover outpatient nutrition counseling? (CPT codes: 97802 and 97803)?
If yes, how many session are allowed?
2. Does my plan only cover visits that are “medically necessary”? OR does it also cover preventative services? (Diagnosis code: Z71.3) If yes, how many sessions?
3. Does my plan cover telehealth for nutrition counseling? (location code: 02 or 10)
4. Do I have a copay or coinsurance for outpatient nutrition counseling sessions? (usually a copay only applies if sessions aren’t covered under prevention.)
6. Do I need a physician referral?

First-Time Session
60-90 minute session for a comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle assessment. During this time we will also create a roadmap of long-term and intermediate goals that will guide our work during follow up sessions.

Follow-Up Session
Ongoing support and plan adjustments. Walk away with clear actionalable goals that feel do-able.

Accepted Payments
Insurance-Based Session
Rates and copays vary by specific plans. Most of our clients are able to see a dietitian with $0 copay if we are in-network with their plan.
Self Pay Options
Credit, debit, HSA, and FSA are accepted for all balances not accepted by insurance and self-pay sessions.
Sliding Scale
Available for those in financial need. Contact for eligibility.
